I had the opportunity to travel to the east coast recently. While the focus was on family events, I made some photo stops along the way. Heading east, I first stopped at Devil's Tower National Monument. After a couple family events in Indiana, I went to Washington DC. I always enjoy shooting our national monuments at night. After some more family time, I visited New York. I walked around Central Park one day, and visited Lady Liberty the next. And on my return trip, I found the trees around Our Lady of the Rockies in full autumn bloom.

I wasn't planning on visiting the Statue of Liberty, mainly because of crowds, but since my ferry ticket to Ellis Island (for genealogy research) included a stop to see Lady Liberty, I took it in. And it is an impressive monument. Here is a typical view.

As one wonders around Liberty Island, you see the Statue from many angles. I was struck by this view. To me, it shows Lady Liberty moving forward, yet grounded, and lighting the way.

For those who have traveled I-90 through Butte, Montana, you've seen the statue, Our Lady of the Rockies, overlooking the city. On my return trip, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Fall colors popping out around the area.
