Near
Farmington, Washington, I
loved the pattern of the tilled land leading up to the grain elevators.
I passed by this spot mid-afternoon, but returned nearer to sunset when
the light is warmer and lower, emphasizing the textures and lines.
Another beautiful view from Steptoe Butte, on a January
afternoon, facing southeast.

I passed this barn many times traveling to and from Spokane
to the
west side of the state, located about 20 miles east of Moses
Lake. I can't count the number of times I would say, "I should stop and
take a picture". Finally, in June of 2000, I actually stopped and took
a short series of pictures. A few months later as I passed by again,
the barn was down. The tower of the windmill remained for some time,
but it eventually came down as well.
