I
first visited the New England area in September, 1979. According to the
locals, it was a fabulous year for Fall colors. I took many pictures,
but I view most of them now as nothing more than snapshots. As my
passion for photography grew in recent years, and my knowledge of the
craft, I longed to return to the land of colorful Autumns, to recapture
that beauty. But with the long distance from home, and my hectic work
schedule that time of year, the opportunities are few and far
between. This year (2007) was one of those rare chances. I
knew it
would
be late in the season, but I was stuck with the time frame.
Arriving October 19, Vermont was well past it's prime in most areas.
Even to the south, the
peak had passed. Disappointed? Certainly with the lack of
color
and leaves. But, the chance to spend a week with my wife,
exploring old covered bridges, church steeples and
cemeteries,
all the while enjoying the serenity of the rural countryside, is a
pleasure not easily expressed.
Here are a few "records" of my adventure. ENJOY!
